Challenge

The customer is a company operating a chain of more than 3,000 stores in Europe (Austria, Belgium, Hungary, the UK, Italy, Finland, Sweden), Asia (Japan, Korea) and Australia, and incurs significant costs for maintaining the IT infrastructure of its stores.

The Customer is committed to implementing the most advanced technology in customer service. Before the implemented works described below, the customer requested to provide an opportunity for its customers to choose and pay for goods in the store using a specially configured mobile device.

Solution

During the pilot project, was made the following:
  • The developers team integrated the selected mobile application with the POS application for accounting for goods sold and ensured the correct processing of all financial transactions of the store and the consolidation of items on a balance sheet.
  • Any customer could take a specially configured iPad, select products and pay with a bank card directly on the tablet using the connected EFT terminal.

Results

  • The most advanced technologies were implemented in customer service
  • Today, as part of the main project, GDC Services team is integrating an Android application with the improved functionality so that now the customer’s clients can install the application from Google Play on their own phone themselves, select the goods in the trading floor and pay for them without having to go through the checkout.
